Aurochs Veterinary Service has been part of the community of Audubon for many years. It was sold to and purchased by Dr. Sara Mattson in March 2020. It once was a mixed animal practice but now focuses on quality and affordable small animal care. We have a small staff but we all have big hearts for taking care of your furry family members.

Sir Sylvester James Auroch (Sal)

Resident Boss

Sylvester or Sal for short came to us from the Marshmallow Animal Shelter on Dr. Saras's birthday at the end of March as an emergency blocked cat in 2023. We got him able to pee and after spending a few days hospitalized we decided to keep him as a clinic cat. For a couple of weeks we were questioning our decision as he has a bit of an attitude at time but he also can be the sweetest boy when he wants to be. We have transformed the clinic for him and most days can be seen sleeping on his bed on top of his kennel or on the counter. He is not a huge fan of dogs and even other cats so some days he gets locked up in his kitty condo to protect himself and our patients. He pretty much runs the place and is addicted to his prescription canned food. He is a fun addition to our team even if he has a catitude most days.
